Abstract：Due to the uncertainty of objectives’ cognition and individual’s different point of views to observe the objectives or incomprehensive understanding, fuzzy language becomes an inevitable existence. News is an important channel for the public to understand the latest social events and their development. Accuracy is the basic feature of news language, but this is not opposite the wide existence of fuzzy language in news. Based on the study of fuzzy language in 2012 political news on BBC website, the thesis probes the translation principles and skills of fuzzy language in political English news from the perspective of fuzzy linguistics, and proposes that in the process of E-C translation of fuzzy language in political English news, the translator should follow the principles of readability, fidelity, timeliness, variability and employ proper translation skills according to whether there are corresponding or similar expressions in Chinese.

摘要：由于客觀實體邊界的不明確性，人們對事物觀察的不同角度或缺乏全面的認識，從而使模糊的語言形式成為一種必然的存在。新聞是當今人們了解最新社會事件及其發展動態的重要渠道，準確性是新聞語言的基本特征，但這不能影響模糊語在新聞中的廣泛客觀存在。本文以BBC網站的2012年度時政新聞中模糊語為研究對象，從模糊語言學的角度來探討英語新聞報道中模糊語的翻譯原則和翻譯策略，提出在時政英語模糊語的英漢翻譯過程中，譯者應遵循可讀性、忠實性、及時性、可變性的原則，根據漢語中是否有對應的或類似的模糊語來選擇翻譯方法和技巧。
